The Art of the Sea
THIS SECTION IS BEING DEVELOPED. PLEASE CHECK BACK AND WATCH OUR PROGRESS.
Ships and the sea have inspired artists, authors and musicians for as long as there has been art, literature and music. Adventure is creating several learning experiences for students in each of these areas. For more information please click the links below:

LITERATURE
“She struck where the white and fleecy waves looked soft as carded wool, but the cruel rocks, they gored her side, like the horns of an angry bull”
Explore the imagery of Wadsworth’s “Wreck of the Hesperus” as well as other modern and classic tales and poems.

MUSIC
Explore the music of the sea aboard Adventure from sea shanties to modern compositions about the ocean.

ART
Seascapes are as old as art itself. Come aboard Adventure and learn about how Gloucester’s own Fitz Henry Lane created the Luminism School or investigate Vija Celmins’ photo realistic art of the ocean and many other artists.
