All are invited for a special world premiere production of Think of Me Tuesday written by Adventure board member, Ken Riaf. Adventure has reserved a block of seats on the final Friday of the show. Purchasing these tickets will benefit both Adventure and the Gloucester Stage. There will be a short gathering in the lobby to meet the playwright, Ken before the show. Coinciding with the 2021 Gloucester mayoral race, this tongue-in-cheek portrayal of “Fishtown’s” most unlikely candidate won’t fail to entertain.

As we batten down the hatches on the summer of 2021 we give thanks to our captains, crew, volunteers, and friends who helped make this a joyful season sailing in service to the community.
Despite challenges with weather and staffing, we sailed more this summer than in past seasons. We were overjoyed to provide public sails, sails to descendants of Gloucester schooner men, and educational program sails. You made all this possible!
We look forward to a busy off-season caring for and maintaining the vessel and staying in touch with everyone. Although our sailing season has come to a close, you can still go on a sail with one of the other vessels in the Gloucester schooner fleet, Ardelle or the Thomas Lannon through October.
Come sail with us next season again starting in June 2022.
The Gloucester Adventure, Inc., operators of the Schooner Adventure and Captain Stefan Edick announce that by mutual agreement Captain Stefan Edick is leaving the organization. “We thank Stefan for his outstanding efforts in getting the Adventure sailing again and in building our organization to the point where it is today. We wish him the best in his future endeavors, and we know we share the sentiments of our community in saying thank you to the Skipper.” – John Morris, president of the Board of Directors –
Captain Edick joined Adventure in 2014 as Captain of the vessel and consultant, and in 2015 was named Executive Director. He played a key role in the completion of the restoration project and obtaining Coast Guard Passenger Vessel certification. During his tenure, Adventure hosted thousands of school-age children for educational programs. Captain Edick also initiated a search for descendants of the men who sailed the Adventure during its years as a productive fishing schooner, and this led to regular sails with descendants from the crews of all of Gloucester’s fishing schooners. Adventure was one of the lead vessels in the Parade of Sail in the Sail Boston festival in 2017, and won the Gloucester Schooner Festival’s annual schooner race for three consecutive years. “During Captain Edick’s term at the helm of the organization, Adventure experienced considerable growth and positive change, and her visibility increased both locally and nationally,” Morris said. “We are grateful for his service to the vessel and the community.” Morris also noted that the Board has concentrated its effort on planning for the future direction of Adventure. “Much effort has gone into revising our strategic plan, reviewing staff roles, and laying a new course for the future.”

Out of an abundance of caution for our guests and our community, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Codfish Ball this year. We feel it is not wise to gather our community for a large party under a tent and encourage families with unvaccinated children to attend.
Instead, we hope you will join us for our 95th Anniversary Sail on our actual 95th Birthday, September 16 or just come to Harriet Webster Pier to wave us off the dock with great fan fare.
Come celebrate our shared community and the season finale of a successful return to sailing with this festive sail!
Thank you to our Corporate Sponsors of the 2021 Codfish Ball and our 95th Anniversary Sail:
